Attendance analysis software

School attendance analysis that spots patterns early — and turns them into a plan

A one-page 360 overview for the whole school, attendance bands and persistent absence over time, and a full picture on every pupil’s record — with certificates and attendance plans built in.

Why attendance analysis matters

The DfE’s guidance on working together to improve school attendance expects schools to monitor attendance data closely, identify pupils and groups at risk early, and work with families to remove barriers. Pupils missing 10% or more of sessions are persistently absent, and those missing 50% or more are severely absent.

Whole-school analysis

  • 360 overview on one A4 page, compared with the same weeks last year.
  • Pupil groups, year groups and classes, attendance bands and movement between them.
  • Persistent and severe absence over time, absence by week and how spells of absence are made up.
  • Day-and-session and every-school-day views that make patterns and illness waves stand out.
  • PDF and Excel export, saved views and publishing straight to governance.

Every pupil’s attendance

Each pupil’s Attendance tab compares this year with last year, the school and national figures, shows a three-year history and absence patterns — as prompts for a conversation, never conclusions — and shows the penalty notice consideration threshold for information only. Attendance certificates and attendance plans are one click away.

Questions schools ask

Does ASEND360 replace our attendance register in the MIS?

ASEND360 includes an attendance register using DfE codes, and connects to your MIS through Wonde. Many schools keep the statutory register in their MIS and use ASEND360 for analysis and support.

Does ASEND360 issue penalty notices?

No. ASEND360 shows whether the national penalty notice consideration threshold has been reached, for information only. Nothing happens automatically.
