Secure SEND software
Built for some of the most sensitive data a school holds.
SEND records include health information, protected characteristics and safeguarding detail. These are the design decisions we’ve made to keep them safe — written for business managers and DPOs as much as for heads.
Stored in the UK
The database and file storage run in a London data centre. Pupil data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Each school sealed off
Every record belongs to one school, and the database itself refuses access to another school’s data. Which school you belong to is worked out on the server from your sign-in — never taken from your browser.
A record of who did what
Changes to records are logged automatically, and opening a pupil’s profile is recorded too, so you can see who viewed and who changed a record, and when.
Access by role
Your school decides what each role can see and do. Sensitive views, such as staff-level behaviour patterns, are limited to senior leaders.
Files kept with the right pupil
Uploaded reports and evidence are stored under that school and that pupil only, with the same protections as the records.
Nothing identifying in links
Web addresses use random identifiers, never names or diagnoses, and pupil details aren’t kept in the browser.
Safeguarding on a need-to-know basis
Once a concern is logged, only staff with safeguarding permissions can see it. Allegations against staff and low-level concerns sit in a narrower headteacher-level tier, never visible to the person named.
Leaving is straightforward
If a school leaves, it can take its data with it, and we delete what we hold in line with your instructions and our agreement.
Accessible by design.
Schools are public sector bodies, and the people using ASEND360 are busy, often mid-lesson.
- Working to WCAG 2.2 AA across the platform and this website
- Full keyboard navigation with a clearly visible focus ring
- Colour is never the only way information is shown
- Respects reduced-motion settings; a high-contrast theme for whiteboards is on our roadmap
No AI built in. ASEND360 doesn’t use AI, and pupil information isn’t sent to any AI model. Plans, reports and reviews are written by your staff — the people who know the child.
Trying the public demo? It runs on sample data held only in your own browser. Please don’t enter real pupil information into it.
